Grumpy Philosopher@DLClough - these kind of farms are becoming increasingly common. Even in the UK, there are around 1100 mega farms, including 4 poultry farms with over 1 million birds each & 3 pig farms with more than 20,000 pigs each. 73% of animals farmed in the UK are intensively farmed. If the environmental damage & the zoonotic diseases don’t kill us, there’s a chance will come to realise how wrong the cruelty is.
650,000 pigs to be kept in a single 26 storey factory, designed to slaughter 1.2 million animals per year, & not a single word in this 700 word #Guardian story about the disgusting inhuman cruelty of it all. The only concern is for the threat to human health & comfort. Disappointing from @TheGuardian
