@HamonWry hey what it’s how it works in the movies, when we are ā€œadvancing the plotā€ for an unseen audience.

What do you think will happen when more people are walking around in their own AR world?

@tmcw they are useful for tallies, less so for searching, but to be really useful need to be systemically overhauled and updated from time to time (a chore that isn’t worth it without a goal in mind). I’ve never been glad for nested tagging, it just creates uneven complexity.
@Mizmay @MBridegam yes, both. I let it lapse and then signed up for a new account with my old handle.

@MBridegam I think your approach makes sense if you still have a personal audience you want to actively engage with over there, and you don’t mind #X inheriting all your data, whereas mine makes sense for cutting the chord but keeping the handle.

There’s a lot I miss about the old #Twitter still 😢. But I also have more ambivalence than ever about social media and interactions online.

@MBridegam Sure.

I wanted to keep the handle while recognizing the platform is not the same any more, and specifically not really something I use to interact with people I know.

I wanted to keep my data as an archive and for possible future projects.

I mentioned it here because there’s a lot of crossover between the followers I had there and the audience over here 🐘.

Why do you ask?

Recently I downloaded my data from the platform formerly known as Twitter, deactivated my account, let it get wiped, and then reclaimed the @mizmay handle.

X is now my place for following billionaires, politicians, and corporations.

All human connections still welcome, on all platforms and in person. Please say hi 😊.

Anyone know where I can find one of these today, to install in our camper van?
