Always ride the funicular.
There's a possible future here where domain expertise and experience matter in curating the datasets that fuel the pattern recognition engines that tomorrow's students, developers and creators rely on as assistive tools. Fields where expertise is both an art and a science, where that intersection can be cultivated rather than merely coincident.
That's not where we are, but that future is still possible. But the foundation of that future is expertise and consent, not nonconsensual aggregation.
