A large and growing sector of the U.S. economy produces nothing of value. Nada. Zilch.

Crypto. Derivatives. Private equity. Every winner comes at the expense of a current or future loser.

Shouldn’t a rational society heavily tax this zero-sum work? https://robertreich.substack.com/p/the-economys-large-and-growing-unproductive#details

The economy's large and growing unproductive sector

Howdy folks! I've been researching and reporting on fringe claims, pseudoscience, and allegedly paranormal mysteries for over 20 years. I love that work and hope to continue for many years to come. #introduction #paranormal #research #misinformation #pseudoscience
On Twitter (Tweetdeck), an important functionality was the search column, where you could have a term like "UAP report" and you'd get a columns with all the results in it.
Can Mastadon do that? Is it even possible with the distributed nature?
Earlier today Elon Musk said that my ban was temporary, 45 min later he denied my appeal to reinstate my account and confirmed that I am *permanently* banned. The email I just received says the decision cannot be reversed.
I have never once violated Twitters rules or terms of service. I’ve never had a single tweet flagged, my account was permanently banned with no warning and with no reason, after I reached out to Musk for comment.

George Adamski's 1952 "UFO" photos are so very obviously of a model.

Yet at the time many "experts" were trotted out to say they were real. And now 70 years later, some people STILL defend them.

Experts are sometimes wrong.

GEORGE ADAMSKI - His photos

George Adamski's photographs of extraterrestrial craft have always been a bone of contention, because of the way sceptics have set up their argument.

Mastodon reminds me of the days when I first joined Twitter. I had no idea how to use it, or who to follow, and basically I didn't really use it for about a year. But at some point a critical mass of connections was made and it sprang to life for me.
Will that happen here? Let's see.
From an internal Twitter dev who has used to be the Chief Cartoonist 😬
Using Jimmy Church's great night vision footage of multiple UFOs, we were able to not only show that they were Starlink satellite flares, but also identify the exact satellites and synchronize their positions to the second!
Pilots have been seeing these.
