Mastodon reminds me of the days when I first joined Twitter. I had no idea how to use it, or who to follow, and basically I didn't really use it for about a year. But at some point a critical mass of connections was made and it sprang to life for me.
Will that happen here? Let's see.

@mickwest have you tried debirdify? I used it to find people I follow on Twitter and already my timeline reminds me a lot of the timeline there.

@mickwest I don't understand it either...when I click on the little elephant in the lower left hand corner, but when I click on my profile it tells me how many I am following...which is currently 2.

@mickwest Heh, looks like we both joined Twitter in the sparse days of July 2008. And yes, same experience, had no idea what to do with it, but it looked neat. Well, this is my very first post here... to laugh about in another 14 years ;)

@mickwest there may be something funky with your mastodon instance. When I follow you it keeps disappearing. I also tried to register on your instance and redirect to mine but all I got was errors. Maybe try another one?
