@BlackAzizAnansi Non-techies' introduction to mastodon is generally confusion, brief exploration, and then bailing. This network tore itself apart because of a decision to offer a default server.

How many active monthly users does mastodon really have? Looks like about a million. Even after all the Twitter bs mastodon is tiny.

I generally like it here but most of my friends from the disability, journalism and science communities who joined did not stay.
