A friend (outside of academia) today referred to capitulating to fascism using the phrase “pulling a Columbia.”

The damage that institution’s leaders did to it…I just can’t even.

@inthehands John Lithgow --> 20 Lessons on Tyranny

Now, more than ever, we need the wisdom of our intellects, the patriotism of our citizens, and the passion and talents of those who still believe in the American experiment. I am deeply grateful to Timothy Snyder for his 20 Lessons On Tyranny and for talents of the brilliant John Lithgow for bringing them to life.

Columbia, the university that will yank your degree at the first sign of a fascist president

@paezha @inthehands @shansterable We have been warned by many scholars that “institutions will not save us”. These people are spineless Peter principle mugs.
@inthehands Harvard by comnparison (a direct competitor to KKKolumbia) just told Trump to take his blood money and stuff it.

@inthehands I never attended Columbia but over the years I'd subscribed to a couple of their email lists.

I have now unsubscribed, and when the unsubscribe page asked for a reason I clicked "Other" and told them it was because they had acceded to the demands of King Donald the Mad.

P.S.: Anybody know some interesting email lists from Harvard I might want to get on? I'm especially looking to replace Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory.

@inthehands Missed one!

Had to unsubscribe from another Columbia email list today. It was requesting a donation to their climate program. I told them to ask King Donald the Mad for the money.

@inthehands
That's what I'm talking about. Relentlessly shame the capitulators.
