At around 7 pm, the 7-year-old announced that he required an Apollo costume to wear to school tomorrow for the conclusion of the Greek mythology unit. Three hours later I have produced this toga-and-cape getup. Adjusting my mom halo and going to bed 😇

Ok, gotta deal with that rat hole obviously. So I got started chipping away the rest of the spray foam to see what I was dealing with and … surprise!!

That there hole is the outlet for the gas stove exhaust fan. Those maniacs had stuffed the outlet vent with a wad of mesh and spray foam, then put vinyl siding over it. No wonder the exhaust fan never seemed to work right. It works a hell of a lot better now! 3/3

So I got around to taking the siding off underneath the deck, and behind it was this mess. That’s a big mess of spray foam between the AC intake and the defunct hose apron, and that’s a fist-sized rat/mouse hole near the top, where they have chewed through the spray foam 2/n
