Here's something to normalise in 2023 - decent time off. I took a two week break from emails, work and science over Christmas. It was as restful as it could be with a toddler but I really needed it and I am very glad I did it. Feeling refreshed and able to face the year ahead now #academia

I mean - it is easy to see how many papers and awards one candidate has; but how do you distinguish yourself as a good colleague (or a decent human being for that matter)?
