Doski Azad, a 23-year-old transgender woman in the Kurdish city of Duhok, was killed in February, reportedly by her brother, who has apparently fled the country.

Last week I heard a speech by Prof. Dame Sarah Gilbert. She of the Oxford vaccine. A woman whose team's work is calculated to have saved several million lives. She warned that Britain's dismal failure to remember, learn and expand on the hard fought achievements of the last few years placed us back to square one when (not if) it happened again.
This piece is a depressing demonstration of that.
