@Miniver I personally would never promote this ecosystem, as it goes against my principles, but yes, for people who want to feel secure in an enclosed ecosystem, governed by a "benevolent" dictator, I think it's a pretty good option.

@Miniver as for the bar being low, you should take a look at projects like GNOME and Fedora. Better UX in many cases, and much, much more ethical.

@Miniver I think you don't keep tab on all the things they do, like not adopting USB-C to get MFI money, not adopting webp for over a decade, only adopting VP9 through webrtc (because it's in the spec) but not in video tags, rejecting RCS. Purposefully crippling the web on iOS (both enforcing a unique engine and keeping it purposefully behind to protect their 30% cut). Selling access to their users to Google for billions and then getting 34% ads revenue. I worked there, Apple is not your friend.
