Researchers found that writers using biased AI agents to auto-complete suggestions had their sociopolitical values shifted without their knowledge it was happening.

We worry about cognitive capture, what the LLMs of big tech are doing to our ability to identify and think through problems. We should be equally worried about them making a grab for our ethos, what we care about, and at population scales.

“I’d created 2000 free-text responses and labelled them ‘UK’. Then I copied and pasted the exact same 2000 responses but labelled these ‘US’. Finally, I combined them to create a dataset of 4000 total responses, and jumbled them up.

Despite the responses being identical for the UK and US, Copilot produced a rich, detailed summary of how US and UK respondents differed.”

Café A - Offener Brief

Offener Brief zur Schließung und Wiedereröffnung des Café A an der TU Berlin.

Café A

Spin to Win:

- a billions dollar startup get its source code leaked
- everyone sees hilarious stupid things, ridiculing the startup
- the IPO is in danger

- a Mythical New Product is announced that is ultra-super-good, but too dangerous. Only orgs that have an interest in the startup doing well get access.
- the media goes crazy with doomerisms. „Will this be the end of <something people are emotionally attached to>?“
- everyone forgets about the leaked, shoddy stuff

Works every time.😌

hahaa! Successfully removed all IR and UV filters from my old Canon EOS 600D, I can do full spectrum, UV and IR photography now!

All of the following photos have been taken with a ~550nm+ lpf, meaning cutting everything under 550nm (blue, purple and uv) off. I love the vibrant pink foliage and dramatic turquoise skies #photography

With the LLM labs raising prices - I’ve been working on a great new set of tools. They’re called “Integrated Development Environments.” They work with formal specification languages, and a series of language processing models to turn that formal language into working software. Best of all, there is little to no cost and they can be hosted entirely locally - even on very old hardware. And they work with the platforms you support today. All without usage limits.

📋 SURVEY FOR PEOPLE ON THE AUTISM SPECTRUM

Do you feel that, because you’re on the autism spectrum, you often find yourself in conflict with others?

Personally, I hate conflict, but it seems to me that, because of my autism, it tends to come up quite often in my life.

Feel free to share your experiences in the comments.

I’d also appreciate a boost to get a larger sample size. Thank you! 🙏
