Software Engineer, tinkerer, builder of yet-another overengineered solution, LED strip fanatic, father of 2 cats, linguaphile. Trying to learn about native plants while rewilding my lawn. English is my mother tongue but might toot in poorly-constructed Estonian on occasion (veaparandused on alati teretulnud)

Note: For what it's worth, I probably could have been fine with WaterFox and just fiddled with the settings and installed more extensions to get the appropriate privacy setup. I just enjoyed that LibreWolf was ready to use (even with uBlockOrigin installed) right after install.

I had also tested #WaterFox, which was also pretty amazing (I loved the built-in tree tabs!), but ultimately I opted for privacy improvements over UI improvements.

I'm hoping that in the near future we'll start to see more browser variety than just Chrome-based flavors though. I've seen/heard of a lot of interesting projects in the works, so things seem to be improving, albeit little by little

One could also turn off the anti-fingerprinting features to resolve the timestamp issue but I kind of like the idea of making it harder for invasive tech companies to ID me. One thing I'll note is that privacy-respecting companies like #Tuta had no such issue :)

I've been testing out using #LibreWolf as my daily driver to replace #FireFox. So far it's been an amazing experience. The only "hiccup" was discovering that sites like Slack and Gmail the timestamps were set to UTC instead of my local timezone. This was only a mild nuisance though and I quickly resolved it with a timezone spoofing extension...

Contrary to popular belief, the numbers on the dial of a toaster are NOT minutes. They control how much a strip inside the device curves, and when the curvature reaches a certain level, the toast pops up.

That's it. It's arbitrary, and a setting of 2 could produce barely toasted toast one day, and burnt black toast the next due to all sorts of environmental factors, including the age of the toaster. What's worse, the meaning of the numbers is not standardised between different models.

It's chaos. Plain and simple. :P

BOOM!
UNIX includes a command to deal with your cat walking on your keyboard. When your cat is coming, you just type "cat" and press enter, and your cat's input won't mess anything up.
