she's a 10 but she beats your ass on all your favorite video games

This is what tech is supposed to be. Innovation based on today's human knowledge to improve lives and prevent deaths. Not whatever this bullshit is that we're dealing with every day.

The Nail Test: Why this $54 billion innovation is terrifying Western auto executives

The practice of reproducing failure on purpose until the physics revealed itself became the bedrock of BYD’s entire operation.

@vga256 there's this spot in parasite eve (uses pretty much the same tech as ffviii) where directly after a boss battle you need to jump off a rooftop to avoid being blown up by a rocket, only the game just leaves you to figure out which way to go (it's to the external maintenance lift, not through the big whole in the roof or back in the door you came up through) and if u die u have to do the boss battle again, great stuff

@vga256 ahahaha fuck that bridge

my friend and i have played ffviii so so much. it's pretty weird! i like it a lot. fond memories of getting hopelessly lost after each new story beat

one of the coolest jams on itch is happening again, and the theme is more important now than ever…

online shoppkng is incredible. it is now possible for a shop to pester me with a feedback form X days after a purchase. (disregarding of course the estimated delivery time). (it's in the future). i love computer

Every few years I revisit #Minecraft, and every time I'm somehow surprised at how scary it is.

Harmless things that have jumpscared me so far:

- The game music
- A friendly squid
- My pet cow mooing
- The axe that I was literally carrying
- The sheep that I forgot was following me
- Saw an enderman from really far away
- Sailing along happily and then realising I'm over a really deep bit
- The game music again

@vampiress two games come to mind

it's been a little while since i played CrossCode, but it had so many little touches that made it a pleasant game to play. There's a chat log that you can open at any time to read back through, even during cutscenes, where pressing start pauses the game instead of immediately skipping it. im sure there were more things but id have to play it again

second is, i guess two games really, Abe's Oddysee and Abe's Exoddus for PS1 have a lot of signage in the background, some of it tells you the controls or gives you hints on how to solve a level, and some are silly jokes and ads from the ingame companies, it's great stuff and it's completely unobtrusive bc they're 2D side-scrollers
