the satanist arguing that my work is intrinsically christian, even after i told them i’m not christian, kept arguing that it is and that it’s a valid conclusion to make because i’m “an american”.
so i deleted the comments because it’s my page.
then they got upset that i deleted it “given what the game is about” 🫠

i honestly need the internet to stop 🤦
nobody is cut out for dealing with this much opinion.

AOL discontinued dial up internet just last year 🥲

idk what’s sadder… the fact that i thought it was dead all along, or the fact that it’s officially gone after lasting this long.

ok i’m going to leave this (very good) Steam review here… which is the only interpretation of the work that i will presently accept as “nailed it”.

the character murdered was a victim. there is nothing to absolve. it’s the last hate crime. at least i’d think it’s era appropriate given epstein, weinstein, or any number of powerful predators and how the world helps them destroy victims. i think the work is clear about the type of social dynamic? 2/3
good grief when you get a comment to your work that so wildly misinterprets it that you feel icky.
how do you get christian from a commentary on unchecked power & greed? how society destroys itself by enabling powerful people? i mean at least the metaphor between Earth & the poet? the death of art?? 1/3
no but i NEED to make a new game 😭

more games should have intentionally obscure, or strange, controls that you have to spend time figuring out. without real instruction. there’s something incredibly compelling about treating interaction like a language you learn.
i love that about games.
i added insinuation to my own experiences (only insofar as to how people treated me. this is presented like online posts with engagement) because i didn’t want it to be written off as misanthropy. it’s a commentary on how society treats those it deems as expendable. earth was the first victim. 5/5
the player is also tasked with burning this hate. disposing of it like the player brings peace to the rest of the world.
drawing similarities between the real world, and the fiction, is what illustrates the reality of the social violence and power structures that the game’s fiction discusses. 4/5
the only time sexual assault is brought up is when i present the player with actual hate that i’ve received (from the alt right or the left online) for my own experience. that’s text at the very end, overlaid over the skeleton, because it illustrates the social violence the game talks about. 3/5
