Experiencing more of the world around us through the food we share.
Gotta post my food and travel and cats somewhere.
Living in NYC but my heart’s in Japan.
These doves are super not impressed by Paddy’s fearsomeness.
They say a cat’s purr is very soothing. So please soothe with 24 seconds of Charlie purrs. Recommended dose: Play on an infinite loop.
A moonshot from a couple of years ago.

I was early for an appointment at #GrandCentralTerminal today, so I did my best impression of a tourist. I had never noticed the old cabinets under the status boards at each track entry before. Too busy going places, I guess! #NYC #touristing
You look cold! Come inside and have some saag dal. This version is yellow split peas and red lentils cooked with aromatics, tomatoes, warming spices, and spinach. So comforting I don’t even mind that my landlord’s skimping on the heat! #comfortfood #stew #lentils #myautumnkitchen
I hope you’ll stay for dinner, because I’ve made red beans and quinoa and there’s a lot of it! This is just like spicy red beans and rice, but with a little protein-boosting swap. #myautumnkitchen #cooking #quinoa #vegetarian #vegan
Four years ago today! Still in Matsumoto, I visited a Meiji era school that was in use until 1963. But the big attraction was visiting as many of the wells listed on the tourist map as possible — more than 20! What a great way to get into all the nooks and crannies of the city! #travel #travelbug #memories #traveljapan #japan #matsumoto
Four years ago today! Another day trip from Tokyo, this time to Sendai City. Most of the day was spent walking along the Hirose River to enjoy the autumn leaves. But I also stopped off at Osaki Hachimangu Shrine, where I chatted with the chickens watching over prayers.
