Seven rows of carrots direct sowed using the Jang seeder and fleeced to warm the soil and protect from frost. They were Autumn King variety which are supposed to be good for storing.

Multisown beetroot and spinach seedlings are coming along nicely in the module trays. Have also sowed coriander, broad beans, peas, onions, spring onions, aubergine, sweet peppers, and chillies so far

First attempt at #Kombucha. We're using the continuos brew method with initial #Scoby (Symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast) from #HappyKombucha. First ferment should be complete in 10 to 18 days. Inspired to do this by watching #GazOakley
New strawberry bed planted in the polytunnel. These were barefoot strawberries, 3 different varieties which should give a long cropping season. I've planted them between the winter salads, which will be harvested before the strawberries grow too much bigger.

Thanks for the comment. Sorry, I hadn't seen it initially I'm new to this app and hasn't set notifications. I've added alt text to the second image now.
Still getting regular harvests of spinach, rocket and endive from the #polytunnel. It was sown a little too late (Sept) so was slow starting, I'll sow these in August this year. So nice to have #salad greens over the winter months.

It's been nice to get some jobs done on the #vegetable plot over the last few days. Started forming a new bed, which we probably won't use until next year using our homemade #compost - it needs to break down a bit more but will let it do that on the ground. Also cleared and tidied some of the existing beds ready for spring plantings.
