UPDATE: Disclaimer: There's quite a bit of doubt about these claims.

„I was part of a team that was directly ordered to manipulate Twitter's systems to influence the 2024 US presidential election. It wasn't subtle, and it wasn't ethical.

We completely changed how the algorithm worked, pushing pro-Trump and right-wing posts to the top of people's feeds. To make it look balanced, we also boosted some left-wing critics of Democrats, but it was all carefully calculated.“

There is no point in even having the #Reddit IPO now. The CEO has been getting publicly owned all week.

Reddit had a no good, very bad week. Reversing on its 15-year support of 3rd party apps, new API pricing makes using anything other than the official app financially unviable. And with just 30-days before changes take effect, indie devs are on the hook for potentially millions of dollars of unexpected costs and/or App Store refunds. I talked with @christianselig about how it has affected Apollo, the best iOS Reddit client out there.

For my latest Iconfactory wallpaper, @gedeonm suggested I try something based on NASA's Project Mercury. But I couldn't figure out what sort of approach to take until I came across a photo of the 1962 postal stamp commemorating John Glenn's successful orbit in a Mercury capsule. The stamp's color and style provided just the right inspiration for me. #DigitalArt #nasa #space #wallpaper

If you’ve used Twitterrific and/or Tweetbot and have a subscription — then this is your chance to be awesome and support awesome indie developers.

Here’s what to do: get the latest versions from the App Store, launch the app, and then tap the “I Don’t Need a Refund” button.

What is only a few dollars to you ends up, in aggregate, meaning a ton to these folks who work so hard and bring so much to our computing lives.

A Farewell to Saturn

After more than 13 years at Saturn, and with its fate sealed, NASA's Cassini spacecraft bid farewell to the Saturnian system by firing the shutters of its wide-angle camera and capturing this last, full mosaic of Saturn and its rings.
