I couldn’t get it together for this week’s show, but next Wednesday on @WFMU I’ll be rebroadcasting the live set that Obits played on my show in April 2009. RIP Rick Froberg.

(You don’t have to write this down, I will most definitely remind you again.)

Republicans: Trump shouldn't have to debate other candidates on meanie news networks.

Also Republicans: Joe Biden must debate looney also-rans because muh democrazy.

The hypocrisy is the point. It's all about different rules for themselves than everyone else.

googling something for my job I don’t know about and the first result is a technical pdf but the link is purple
It's not even close to acceptable that Rick Froberg has left us. He has been a huge part of the soundtrack of my life, especially when I've needed to deal with anxiety and pain - his cathartic shriek helps me through. It always will. But he and we and I needed more. Farewell https://youtu.be/wUBajd8-6gk

Yes, the Court’s affirmative action decision is worse than you thought.

The Supreme Court’s Conservatives Are Breaking History and Our Future

Perhaps the most grotesque aspect of the affirmative action opinion lies in its effort to drain the moral and legal force of Brown v. Board of Education.

Putting #FAIRvHarvard in context(s), a thread. Text of all opinions available at https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/22pdf/20-1199_hgdj.pdf

Bottom line: The majority and dissent differ fundamentally about the meaning of the #14thAmendment; the meaning of #race in the U.S.; and the importance of #precedent in constitutional decisions from the #SupremeCourt. Plus, Justice #Sotomayor absolutely eviscerates #ClarenceThomas concurrence. 1/ #LawFedi

The Independent State Legislature theory is dead--for now, with Chief Justice Roberts writing for the 6-3 majority in Moore v. Harper.

Justices Thomas, Alito, and Gorsuch dissenting.

It cannot be overstated how disastrous this ruling would have been for democratic rule in the US.
