Morning blues (vertical shot)

I've been photographing this same spot and composition on New Year's Day for about half a dozen years now. This is how 2023 started for me.

First game of Votes for women. We played 2 vs the Oppobots. Few moving parts along their decks. Some cards are left out of play for the oppobots, you never know which one. Anybody who played 1960 or Twilight Struggle won't be at lost playing the game. The play is fluid and cutthroat. <

Firts game we had fun, we fighted the oppobots not the rulebook, and it was very engaging, Picture is end of turn one, and yellow and purple cubes are suffragists.

Surfing Lake Superior

Last Friday after the blizzard, these surfers from Thunder Bay, Canada came down to the Minnesota's 121 surf break. They were hoping for a good cleanup. I wasn't out there but the waves looked a little mushy. I got a couple photos of them.

During the pandemic the border between Canada and the US was closed, so it's been a few years since they've come down.

Cook County, MN is asking people not to drive right now, especially on the Gunflint Trail. The graders are starting to plow out roads.

We got around 10 inches near Superior last night, and it looks like about 15 inches at my house. I haven't heard totals for the Highlands, yet, but inland totals are in the single digits. Total amounts for this storm are about 50% of predicted, but it is still snowing.
