Position Description The College of Arts & Sciences and Lewis & Clark College invites applications for a one-year Visiting Professor or Visiting Instructor in Data Science and Statistics position for the 2025-26 academic year. Teaching responsibilities (all expected to be in-person) will include Introduction to Data Science; Statistics I (in the Psychology Department); and Numbers, a first-year seminar in the uses and interpretation of quantitative data. The position is full-time and benefits-eligible, with a starting date of September 1, 2025. Qualifications Candidates must have expertise enabling them to teach the proposed courses and a demonstrated potential for teaching excellence in an undergraduate liberal arts environment. A Ph.D. at the time of appointment is preferred. Proficiency with 1) SPSS (or JASP) and 2) either R or Python is required, with a preference for R.
