Ich freue mich sehr, dass der Rat unseren Antrag mit großer Mehrheit angenommen hat! Es ist nun zwar ein eher kleiner Schritt, aber im Weiteren werden wir mit der Verwaltung Dienste/Produkte identifizieren, die auf souveränere Beine gestellt werden können. Dann werden wir versuchen, Schritt für Schritt die Abhängigkeiten zu lösen.

TOP 5.3 im #osrat ist unser Antrag „ #DigitaleSouveränität stärken: Städtische Kommunikation unabhängiger von Tech-Riesen machen“ , den ich initiiert und zusammen @eric und Timo Spreen auf den Weg gebracht habe. Er wurde von anderen Fraktionen unterstützt, die Verwaltung hat jetzt - auf unsere Nachfrage - das Thema auch als wichtig und richtig bestätigt.

Einstimmig angenommen! Ein guter Schritt für unsere #Demokratie und #Freiheit nicht nur in #Osnabrück !

I love mesh networks, and love the 1999 WAP standard. After I started thinkering with MeshCore I realised text is fun but what about the internet? WAP 1.x was built to be sent over SMS... this might work. Taking my WAP-over-SMS project and two ESP32s and voila!

WAP internet (all you actually need) over a fully decentralized network!

Oh you think your Home Assistant install is cursed?

A friend of mine has a broken fridge thermostat. For the last year it has been regulated by Home Assistant using a zigbee temperature sensor, turning the entire fridge off and on with a smart plug. He likes this.

You know how years ago it seemed everyone was playing #sudoku during bits of "off time"? And these days it seems everyone is #knitting?

It got me curious and made me wonder: Is knitting more populair than sudoku?

As I regularly travel by train this seemed a good setting to investigate this question.

For about half a year (jun25-dec25) I collected data during train journeys (methodology & data disclosure in the thread).

I now have an answer. ->

Ab März 2026 gibt es dann auch auf der unteren Ebene unseres Turmbahnhofs Konkurrenz im Fernverkehr für die DB!

Auf der Strecke Amsterdam - Osnabrück - Hannover - Berlin sind von dem niederländischem Unternehmen #GoVolta dann 3 Zugpaare die Woche unterwegs. Ab Sommer dann sogar täglich.

It looks like this route display inside of a bus has a memory leak or at the very least, the operating system, which seems to be a rather old version of Windows, is complaining that the pagefile is too small. So both RAM and virtual memory seem to be exhausted.

Virtual memory/swap is a memory expansion technique where some memory pages get stored on disk instead, at the disadvantage of being slower to access as they need to be swapped to the actual RAM chip on demand.
