Apparently the Fairphone 5 microphone not working with automatic wireguard call profile switching was just a race condition with q6voiced:

This means I now have calls working at a usable level with great quality on the Fairphone 5.

Since ArchLinux users must love the bleeding edge, I'm shipping this as default with my packages, so it should work out of the box going forward:

Thanks to the great work done by @wrenix, @valpackett, and many others (certainly not me), I've finally gotten calls working on my Fairphone 5.

While there's some kinks left to be ironed out, call quality is excellent out of the box (certainly better than my PinePhone (Pro)).

I've pushed a `linux-sc7280-calls` kernel to my arch repo for anyone who wants to try it. The following PR discussion should help set it all up:

Yesterday I fixed the Fairphone 5 audio on my Archlinux system, just for myself (afaik I'm the only user of my FP5 stuff).

Within that day, @wrenix submitted a pmOS patch and 3 separate people already approved it (with Luca not even being one of them).

@FestplattenSchnitzel even ported the fix to the FP4 and tested it.

PostmarketOS might not be able to win me over from Arch with their software, but the community they managed to build is impressive.

New blog post introducing the WIP Duranium project (immutable postmarketOS), some of its major features, and explaining why some design decisions were made.

A newly formed European industry consortium led by Volla Systeme GmbH, with partners such as Murena and iodé, plans to develop an open alternative to Google Play Integrity called Unified Attestation. This system would provide a transparent security verification method so that banking, government, and wallet apps can run on Google-free custom ROMs.
