@grote Let's work towards good Android app support for #LinuxMobile 📱 so we can benefit from the nice #FreeSoftware apps that are there and being developed without having to worry about what Google does.

We at #phosh's @ev sure want to help there.

New blog post introducing the WIP Duranium project (immutable postmarketOS), some of its major features, and explaining why some design decisions were made.

> Either the new image works, or the system falls back to the previous one automatically. No partially-applied state. No debugging audio when you need to make a phone call and no fussing with a broken web browser when you just want to doomscroll cat photos. It also means developers can reproduce the exact state of a user's device, making it much easier to track down and fix issues.

Vladimir Zapolskiy developed and submitted the actual S5KJN1 driver upstream (for a different device), so just some dts additions were left for me :)

[PATCH 0/3] Front camera enablement on Fairphone 5 - Luca Weiss

A newly formed European industry consortium led by Volla Systeme GmbH, with partners such as Murena and iodé, plans to develop an open alternative to Google Play Integrity called Unified Attestation. This system would provide a transparent security verification method so that banking, government, and wallet apps can run on Google-free custom ROMs.

Unified Attestation is a free, open-source alternative to Google Play Integrity with offline verification and simple app + server integration.

Before I bite the proverbial bullet. Is someone on the #fediverse using a #Fairphone 5 with #PostmarketOS edge on it ? Is it as good as the wiki suggests ? What are the gotchas apart from the documented ones on the wiki?
Please boost ❤️

You know, I don't actually agree that using an LLM to edit code should be banned by a project. Sure, running it on autopilot, yes. But as an editor? No. Being able to say search for a symbol without knowing it's name exactly or start a big semantic search and replace or copying and filling out a template with my own values with an LLM instead of wasting my limited time on earth with it is great.

New blog post: Why "digital sovereignty" requires a free software alternative to Android and iOS, and how we're building towards that 🏗️

With all this Google malarkey where they are trying to lockdown their ecosystem, It's making really want to purchase a Fairphone 5 and install @[email protected] . I know it's not fully functional but it's so so close. Has anyone else tried daily driving a #Fairphone 5 with #PostmarketOS recently ?? #MobileLinux

phew, @verdre and I just finally got Jolla Android appsupport up with Android 13 on #postmarketOS after a few too many late nights

still suuuuper broken but hopefully we'll soon get back to the state we were in with Android 11 last year. Maybe we'll finally be able to publish this

(yes it's so much nicer than Waydroid)
