Just as a note from a German, this German self-understanding wasn't always like this, and is largely a product of the 70s. The allies left Germany having made sure a fairly good constitution was in place, but the mindset of people, and with it what was taught in high school only changed after we were a generation removed from the Holocaust, with adult children disgusted by their parents, asking what they had done.
Plus, it's not like the Holocaust came out of nowhere, anti-Semitic sentiment was widespread since at least the Middle Ages, with pogroms being a repeated event throughout the centuries.
This is mostly to say that this isn't an unchangeable or unpreventable fate in America, and believing that it is, citing a history of genocide underestimates what people are capable of, leading to defeatism.
This can be changed, and it must be changed.
OMG! This shelf cloud was a real monster, to capture such a beast of nature is true #adrenaline.

Just thinking, questioning really, how many heart beats in a lifetime?
Answer below.
If you use an average of 80 beats per minute, your heart beats about 4,800 times per hour. That's a whopping 115,200 times per day. Over the course of a year, your heart would beat about 42,048,000 times! If you live to be 80 years old, your heart would have beaten approximately 3,363,840,000 times! That's over 3 billion heartbeats! Crazy

This is the first tweet that they sent after the unbanning:
"As a company from eastern Germany, we know that building a wall to try and keep people from leaving isn't a good idea."
What a response!
