I finished up Mass Effect 1 yesterday, and hot damn does that game still hold up. There are some moments that are definitely victim to the design sensibilities of the times, but its ability to tell scan impactful a succinct story in under 20 hours is incredible.
It’s hard to reconcile how BioWare went from this to where they are today. It’s honestly really sad.
Woke up to a decent chunk of snow this morning. Always brings a smile to my face. Growing up in Aus I had never seen snow until I was like 34 years old.
I keep a game journal log when I review games, or when I play longer games so if I sit them down I can remember what I did last, or how I feel about a game.
I think my entry from my first session with Thank Goodness You’re Here sums the game up pretty well. Love it so far.

After listening to @kylestarr on Into The Aether, to prepare for fatherhood I picked up this neat handheld. Whipping this thing out of my pocket to play Super Mario World in 15 minute bursts is seriously amazing.
After a stint of going full digital - tasks, journaling, meeting notes - I really decided that I just miss the tactile feeling of writing things down, and the immense focus I can achieve when away from a screen.
Adopting a hybrid approach based on this article, and already I feel like it suits my sensibilities a little more.

Started a Blood Bowl 2 league with some online friends and it has been a blast! We play a match every 2 weeks, and so far it has been just filled with good times and learnings.
Like tonight. I learned that yes, you can have players killed. It was quite a shock.
