Digital video game rentals when?

I’m limited to 1-2 hours of gaming per week. I’d love to try the latest and greatest and carry a save if I choose to rent or purchase later. Demos, sure, but I’d happily hand over $2-5 for a time limited rental à la Apple TV Store.

Once again, WWDC has me yearning to join the dev community (inside or outside of Apple).
