As much as I despise Musk for so many things, and as much as his Starlink satellites are ruining astronomy and creating vast space-junk hazards, he's only partly to blame.

The absolute refusal of government to see what was happening, and stop it before it was too late, is the bigger problem.

And that continued refusal to lift a finger is encouraging orders of magnitude more satellite launches by Musk and other space grabbers.

It's insane, and we will regret it, probably too late.

Cool wildlife compositions, created by one of the most talented artists in our community, his name is Aphisan aka Joke, these are all available if you see one that you like & want to inquire about! ~

#PPOD: This stunning photograph captures the most violent moment during an eruption of the Calbuco volcano in Chile. Volcanic lightning occurs in the plumes of eruptions when volcanic ash particles collide, generating static electricity. Additionally, water vapor in the plume condenses and freezes as it rises, adding ice to the mix. And voila! The eventual electrical discharge causes lightning. #PPOD: This vertical relief image of clouds on Jupiter was rendered using a composite of mapped datasets collected during NASA's Juno spacecraft's perijove 26 in 2020 on a Jupiter shape model. Vector displacement was applied as a function of RGB brightness. JunoCam uses depth-of-field and white color balancing, the point of view was "placed" at a point not along the spacecraft's trajectory. Credit: NASA/JPL-Caltech/SwRI/MSSS/ @kevinmgill

The sunglint, a specular reflection, is the bright area near the 11 o'clock position at upper left. This mirror-like reflection, known as the specular point, is in the south of Titan's largest sea, Kraken Mare, just north of an island archipelago separating two separate parts of the sea.
