🐹 I built an MMO RPG where live Gopherspace itself is the game world.
You can:
🗺️ explore real Gopher servers
🔍 discover files → get loot 💎
💬 leave comments on files, like on my RFC (pic)
⚔️ attack players and steal their loot
▶️ Play instantly (web):
https://gopher.someodd.zip/1/gateway/games/grpg/look/
▶️ Native Gopher link:
gopher://gopher.someodd.zip/1/gateway/games/grpg/look/
📄 The game is a README file.
The README *is* the executable.

Fools! I was paying $40 per megabyte of RAM back in 1993!
I am an experienced software & HPC researcher in Belgium looking for a job. C, C++, Common Lisp, Go, Java, Julia, Python, Rust, parallel programming, metaprogramming, bioinformatics, sparse compute, ...
I received an outstanding paper award for a paper about non-blocking GraphBLAS in Julia at IEEE HPEC’25. It uses multi-stage programming to generate optimal code at runtime. A port to Python + dynamically compiled C++ is underway, eventually also GPU support.
Thanks for boosting. :)
I really love #DeathByScrolling by @grumpygamer . If you haven't tried it yet, please do. Amazing price, funny dialogue, and great game play.

Anyone have the complete service manual for the Sony PRD-650MC / PRD-650WN CD-ROM Discman?
There's a 10 page PDF out there that's missing a lot of pages (it jumps from page 8 to 28).
(Boosts appreciated for wider reach--thx!)
Urgent help for OpenPrinting needed!
As many here know, I am co-founder and lead of OpenPrinting since 2001, known as the print guru for Linux and free software by many. I also got one of the 8 fellows of the Linux Foundation for this.
Up to now I was working at Canonical, hired back in 2006 just to run OpenPrinting and also to maintain printing-related Ubuntu packages.
... 🧵
Please boost.

It finally happened!
Someone (namely @spacegamejunkie ), has finally filled a crucial gap in my life. The gap labelled "Podcast About Retro Flight-sims And Nothing Else".
This will be a monthly deep-dive into the origins of a genre very dear to my heart.
Thankyou to Brian, Chase and Denny for your idea, your passion and reading my mind! I can't wait to hear more.
And check your six!
