Spooky pumpkin man.

Yeah I’m sure it’s all the dark colors that are causing global warming, nobody pay attention to the cars.

I've learned that tomorrow at 1pm there'll be a protest against the one homophobic and transphobic event being held at the OCC (there are two other events at the OCC this week, including the fabulous #FOSSY).

I'm not sure exactly how I plan to show up amid all my other responsibilities tomorrow, but I'll be there at least briefly to stand in solidarity.

I suspect I already know the answer.

Cars are killing pedestrians and cyclists at a historic rate. Meet the activists fighting back one cinder block at a time.

I know people are tired of me talking about the heat, but the heat index in Texas topped 120F today. This means the electrical grid, which the #GOP deregulated and took off the national grid to better serve their money guys, is fragile under the best circumstances, but is starting to crash like it did during the Great Freeze that caused lost lives and millions of dollars in damages to property. There are over 400,000 Texas households without power right now. Deaths are already being reported in West Texas from heat and lack of power.

This is what the GOP is. They will sacrifice anyone and everyone for a few dollars more in their campaign coffers. They have set their sites on dismantling and privatizing the commons for the benefit of a few and the detriment to the rest.

We need your voice to call for safer large trucks! Crashes between large trucks and people biking are some of the most serious — and simple safety equipment could make these crashes so much less deadly.

In our research we found that women were told they were too young to lead, too old to lead...and middle age wasn't quite right either. As it turns out no age is the right age to be a woman leader. See my latest

Women in Leadership Face Ageism at Every Age

Originally, ageism was understood to be prejudice, stereotypes, and discriminatory behavior targeted at older employees. But with an increasingly diverse and multigenerational workforce, age bias now occurs across the career life cycle — especially for women. “Youngism” refers to ageism toward younger adults, fueled by the conflation of age with maturity and the misperception that tenure is required for competency. Even middle-aged women are feeling the effects of age bias. Age diversity in the workplace yields better organizational performance while perceived age discrimination creates lower job satisfaction and engagement. The good news is that there are practical steps for leaders to combat this never-right gendered age bias. First, recognize ageism in your organization; you can’t fix a problem that isn’t there. Next, with your employees, address “lookism,” and focus on skills, no matter who has them. Finally, cultivate creative collaborations to encourage learning across age groups.

Tonight, on a 5-1 vote, the Albany, OR city council voted to repeal costly parking mandates citywide.

Albany, pop, 57,000, is Oregon's 11th largest city and 6th to repeal mandates

(Portland, Salem, Bend, Corvallis, Tigard, Albany).

One Albany down - 33 to go!

Hello #BikeTooter, I'm looking for a cargo #ebike recommendation for tall people. I'm 6'5" and, if it matters, close enough to 250 lbs.

We have a Tern GSD in the family, and, while they say it's good for my height, I find it a bit awkward.

Boosts for reach are cool.
