It's important that we speak truth to power and raise up those who are pushed down in our society. Regardless of who and where you are, we are a community and need to come together. It's difficult and mistakes will be made along the way, but that's true of many worthwhile things in this world.

But you know what else is important? Having fun. Don't forget that life should also be enjoyed.

@HouseOfSchnuck @keefeglise My understanding is that Netflix acquired the rights to all the books for the purpose of adaptations. The censorship was likely to avoid any potential controversy moving forward. As soon as it became news, became a debate, it turned into advertising for everyone in a position to make money from it.
@briannawu I'm learning that no one -- including myself -- ever tried GoldenEye with the two controller control scheme. You couldn't do 4 players with it, but it was supposed to be better than normal schemes.
@MichaelKlamerus One of my best friends went through an early and immediately popular post-grad game design course. He was almost immediately told that AAA was the only way and they would help facilitate that, and they kind of did. To an extent, what helped him was a connection he already had to the industry. Now he works at a little-known developer that makes games for AAA developers. It's weird that he's ended up in a both-and space. And it's worked out well enough.
@charliejane Sounds oddly similar to the velcro baby discourse, too
@e_urq OK, now I’m curious. Anyone know what Peterson said about ornithology?
@WorldOfCrap I feel sorry for their operators, who are given little training and bad systems. I called as a follow-up to something a few weeks back and was given the challenge question of my own zip code. Except what neither I nor the person handling my call knew was that it was a zip code from nearly a decade ago...
@Bullix @chadloder As someone who loves visiting meteorite collections, I would hate for the awe of seeing a specimen to be tainted by a backstory that connects it to her in any way. Spare the meteorite please!
@kbals @parkermolloy And for others COVID represents death through lack of precaution and continues to look that way as COVID persists. I don't want to make light of the trauma of isolation and the privilege I experienced with family in my home and access to technology that let me reach out at any given moment, but the greater good is inconvenient and uncomfortable. Trauma can, unfortunately, exist based on things that are in other circumstances very banal.
@charliejane it managed to do that while also being a good, fun, compelling show.
@emilylhauser I agree with this assessment, although in the end I liked Glass Onion more. But it did disappoint. Seemed to me more of a story about a detective than a detective story.
