2. The first time you submit a reply to someone’s post, it pops up a box that asks for your cell number, so they can confirm you’re a person. But then it drops the text of your reply, so you have to type it in again.
3. All hashtags are coerced to lower-case. Tough luck, blind users using text-to-speech!

Hm. Just looked at my profile, and both my Following and Followers counts have dropped *dramatically* — about 15–20% lower than yesterday.
Is this some defederation thing, or fallout from the recent DDoS attacks?
I expect that compiling those numbers involves polling a whole lotta servers, and there’s probably some latency involved, and sensitivity to outages.
It seems that currently Mastodon GmbH instances mastodon.social and mastodon.online are under a DDoS attack.
This is confirmed by @[email protected].
Other non-Mastodon GmbH instances do not seem to be affected.
