“Wellness” is eugenics adjacent. It’s always been about hiding or eliminating the disabled and chronically ill, not about actually helping them.

If you’re sick? It’s your fault. You didn’t try hard enough to get better. You didn’t eat the right foods, take the right potions or exercise enough.

Wellness “influencers” are exceedingly dangerous to disabled and chronically ill people, because they push the idea that we could get better if we ‘really wanted to’.

So why are we making one the US Surgeon General? And what does it mean for those of us living with chronic illness?

Hot take that everyone agrees with incoming but I need to vent.

The US healthcare system is shit. I have wasted half a day on the phone just trying to get diabetic test strips. Something I have need for years now but because my health insurance changed and I have to get approval for them again. This has actually been an issue since the start of the year, and I have just been paying out of pocket for them this whole time.

Fuck insurance companies.

The internet is an essential public utility and should be treated as such.

Fiber networks should be (a) municipally owned, (b) funded by bonds and repaid by subscriber fees/dues, (c) leased to many different ISPs to ensure the lowest prices possible.

It works. That is all.
