Another update and possibly a solution for some case where posts were not properly deleted. There is a limitation in Powerdelete. Here is a link to a new version and alternatives:

The restores could also be rollbacks from the server issues or post haven't been properly deleted due to subs being private during blackouts.

New smoke alarms installed. They are definitely working and they are loud. As I was finishing up next door popped round to see if we had anything beeping - apparently he had been hunting for the source of the beeps since I started the install (I was testing when they came out of the box, then once they were installed and then linked them and did a whole system test).

Once I explained what I was doing he went back and I heard him testing their alarms! 😁

Spend the next hour and a half going over the details of an existing system they are trying to replace.

They get more and more pissed off at the senior leadership forcing their project to happen

Just discovered as a result of this that Scotland now requires multiple smoke and heat alarms - with 10 year batteries and interlinking. Waaaay better than the English option which is "whatever £5 thing you can find with a 9v battery in"

Having a smoke alarm battery start dying on you the same day a house down the road caught fire is slightly unnerving. Time to get replacement smoke alarms I think!

The openssh-client package on Debian 12 bookworm will rename the group "ssh" to "_ssh" on upgrade. Beware of locking yourself out if you use something like "AllowGroups ssh" in your /etc/ssh/sshd_config. Apparently this group is not meant for this purpose.

Damn little shitbag was sat upstairs ignoring me all along. Went out to check if she was stuck out the front and spotted her watching me from one of the kids windows.

Damn #cat has gone walkabout just as I was about to shut her in for the night. If I trusted her to be able to get in one of the open upstairs windows I wouldn't worry as much. But she is older and can't always make the jump she needs.

Plus she is pathetic and will just sit at the back door until I open it for her rather than use a window!
