Your piemaking age is the approximate number of years you’ve been making a pie plus the approx number of years the person who TAUGHT you to make that pie made it.

So I’m oldest in apple-#piemaker years (around 120), which I hope explains adequately why I had a very hard time deciding what variety to buy (and mix with Granny Smiths) when the store didn’t have any of my usuals, just a bunch of newfangled sweet-eating hybrids. I’m a very old lady, set in my ways! 👵🏻🥧

I officially think the pendulum has swung too far: Hollywood is killing *too few* dogs in #movies.

Like many people, I have firm ideas about what belongs in #stuffing/dressing based on my own family's traditions. But I come from a wheat-bread #dressing family, and I've been experimenting with cornbread, so I find myself unusually flexible!

What do you like in cornbread dressing? The recipe I'm looking at has just celery, onions, minced garlic, herbs: I'm planning on adding mushrooms for sure. (Pecans sound nice, but I'm allergic to tree nuts!)

Don’t be like me: don’t make someone tell you 5 times to watch Nature’s delightful “Woodpeckers: the Hole Story” before it leaves free PBS streaming. Woodpeckers creating rest-stops for migrating hummingbirds, making homes for mammals and birds, increasing the depth and complexity of their ecosystems…and looking ABSOLUTELY RAVISHING doing it. Still streaming today!

It is narrated by Paul Giamatti. But that is fine.

The last book I finished was (the excellent audiobook of) Naomi Novik’s _The Final Graduate_, incredibly well-plotted and well-worldbuilt. I love her grouchy wizard heroine.

Unfortunately, I am 160th in line for the next book in that series at my library (through the Libby app, which I adore!) So I am re-listening to Tana French’s _The Trespasser_, which is one of her piercing, lyrical literary police procedurals.

👋 #introduction Hullo! I’m Felicity. I’m a writer, mostly of science-fiction and fantasy short stories. (Tho’ if you’re a literary agent, please ask me about my YA novel where pet dinosaurs escape across an already mid-apocalyptic U.S.!) I was nominated for a Nebula in 2010, and appointed Family Piemaker in 2011.

I love dinosaurs, audiobooks, and playing table-top RPGs. I birdwatch and I’m enthusiastic about climate hope.

I brought muffins. Read any good books lately?
