I learned a new breathing technique that's working for me. Take in as much air as you can, then one sip more, hold for a sec and then "haaaaaaa" it out.
I like that it's tailored to the moment-- if the best I can do is a shallow breath in, that's okay! But that extra sip, repeated a few times, does gently help the breath go deeper.
All the best to everyone dealing with #anxiety and/or #trauma recovery today ♥️.
Lamentation is an important expression of hope. Sometimes we're offered a tidy faith, full of answers and shushing advice. But I think that so often when we weep and ask questions and yell at God, it's because we believe somewhere deep that Love is ultimately enough to comfort, heal, and make things right.

"When Dr. Soong created me, he added to the substance of the universe. If... I am destroyed, something unique, something wonderful will be lost. I cannot permit that." -Commander Data, #StarTrek #NextGen, S2 E9
I want to be so wise, so direct and so quietly assured of my worth as I set my priorities, routines and boundaries!
"The growing good of the world is partly dependent on unhistoric acts; and that things are not so ill with you and me as they might have been is half owing to the number who lived faithfully a hidden life, and rest in unvisited tombs.”
-George Eliot
Thank you to all here speaking difficult truths and reaching for deeper love and sharing beautiful art today. I would say a toot is usually an unhistoric act, but you never really know the ripple effect of your words and pictures!
I pray in words I've borrowed from weeping saints of old
Who hoped as I, and sorrowed, yet found that You would hold
The weight of doubt and grieving in this chaotic dome
And hold each soul, relieving, 'til healed and safely home
