Seasonal Recruitment 2023 - Research Assistant and Senior Research Assistants | RSPB

The RSPB are now recruiting for their seasonal Research Assistants and Senior Research Assistants vacancies working on a variety of projects within Great Britain in 2023. Full details of the roles can be found in the additional information attached and these roles are subject to change depending on confirmation of funding or new funding becoming available and the RSPB reserves the right to appoint from the talent pool collected from this recruitment campaign.  All roles will involve carrying out agreed programmes of ecological survey, research work or species recovery work, alone or as part of a small survey team.  Most roles will require previous survey or field research experience and excellent bird identification skills. Every year, we also recruit some roles that require particular specialist skills, such as bird ringing / handling, or a high degree of botanical knowledge. All posts advertised here will be matched to either the Research Assistant or Senior Research Assistant within the RSPB pay and reward structure.   The salary ranges are as follows Research Assistant £21,622 to £22,433 per annum Senior Research Assistant £26,180 to £27,161 per annum You will be required to upload your CV and complete an online application through our recruitment portal. I’m a Post Doc at DICE Uni of Kent, UK. Currently working on #CapacityBuilding for TRADE Hub (a global #SustainableTrade project) and global #ProtectedArea network research particularly wrt 30x30.

Previously worked on #pangolins, #IllegalWildlifeTrade, #AfricanWildDogs, #MovementEcology and (of course) #cheetahs

Therefore, I am asking journals publishing with for-profit entities, such as Wiley and Springer, to move their accounts to another server.
I understand this is also effecting society-associated journals but a line has to be drawn somewhere.
I strongly encourage you to reach out to your publishers and ask them to set up their own Mastodon servers that could be used by journals.
