I set up Thunderbird for email on my new phone, and it was kinda annoying but I couldn't put my finger on why? Lol it defaults to only keeping 25 messages per folder on your device. I had to push the "search on the server" button on every search. Let's set that to 10,000 that feels better.
If you still have #Firefox installed while transitioning to another browser, at least go into the settings and turn off telemetry. Make sure to include the "daily usage ping" that they use to track installs. And maybe disable auto updates, which I don't suggest lightly.
I wondered why the history of civil rights was so especially brutal in Birmingham, AL, versus other southern cities (historians consider it the most brutal). Then I learned it was a company town. Now go look up why healthcare is so historically screwed up in the USA. We should be teaching the root causes first.

Aurora is starting up! Get somewhere dark and look north. It will probably look better in your camera than your bare eye.

If you're looking for a way to help ongoing legal efforts against the Trump administration, https://courtlistener.com is a website that provides free access to court documents. The way they acquire documents is having people install their RECAP browser addon, then obtain the documents from PACER, the official US government court system's website.

While access to these documents is typically charged at 10 cents per page, all fees are waived quarterly if you don't exceed $30 (that's 300 pages). If you can spare the time, please help out and spend your quarterly free access making these documents available to the public.

I'm currently tracking (and downloading documents for) Orr v. Trump, the case against the current administration for halting issuance of passports with updated gender markers.

The prosecution has filed for a preliminary injunction forcing the state department to continue issuing correct passports. The judge has not yet decided whether to approve the injunction.

@mekkaokereke I did my yearly compliance training at my company a few weeks ago.

In the DEI module, they cited a study showing that strong DEI programs lead to a 19% increase in revenue. They go on to say any other initiative that resulted in a fraction as much additional revenue would be a no brainer to adopt so DEI is even more so, basically end of discussion.

It might be nice to see a moral stand there, but the fiscal one is hard for anyone to argue against.

I just got this on my Win10 login screen. At least with normal AI slop, you might get some actual facts out of it. Microsoft figured out how to solve that problem. Less useful than a broken clock.
The first thing God did with humanity is invent a new gender. Inventing new genders is a Godly pursuit. God looked at the earth when there was one gender & one sexual orientation per person, and said that it was very good!
