There's now a Mastodon server specifically for #Neurodivergent folks, and it makes me so many levels of happy how much the ND representation is already there: https://neurodifferent.me/about
Neurodifferent Me

A friendly space for neurodifferent folks.

Mastodon hosted on neurodifferent.me
If anyone has received manager training that specifically includes neurodivergent people I’d like to know about it.
Managing autistic, ADHD people and those with other neurodivergences is different from managing typical people and there must be something about it somewhere.

Working on a Wordpress-based dev project this morning.

The only way I can deep-focus on a task like this is with a soundtrack.

Listening to music while engaged with a mental task is like providing a track for my brain to ride on. Anyone else?

This morning: Moonspell. 🤘🏼

I'd forgotten that the hardest part of an internet-based project is deciding on a domain name (kidding/not kidding), either because:

…everything is taken and there are no good options, or

…there are so many good options to choose from.

@kayleigh Hi! Early-40s self-dx here. I’ve found the #ActuallyAutistic community here to be very accepting. :)
Just voted! The only item on my ballot today was the race for our House Rep. Cast my vote to try to unseat the homophobic, insurrectionist incumbent. The line at the polling place was long, but the wonderful election volunteers kept it moving.
@jnm Love, no. Tolerate, maybe. 😅 Also, I should’ve specified that I was looking at some of the managed Mastodon hosting providers to alleviate having to deal with some of the minutiae. Mostly interested in the ability to customize and own my own data.
Are there any significant reasons why I shouldn't create my own instance, just for me?
@[email protected] What a cutie. AND BEANS! ☺️

Lotta talk about replacing Twitter.

The better dialogue is how to get people to re-evaluate how they engage with the internet.

Personally, I'm convinced of two things:

- You can't 1:1 replace Twitter unless it's a similar top-down walled garden.

- Most people probably shouldn't want a Twitter replacement, since Twitter is bad for us.

Instead of finding/molding/creating a replacement, we should encourage people (and ourselves!) to focus on what they like most about internet interaction.
