I like a variety of things, usually involving science or science fiction. My hobbies are all excuses to collect pretty colors: sewing, quilting, knitting, even baking and running, somehow. Microbiology and food safety person. Every now and then I code something.

@junebug Harvard's public health site is pretty good. Here's their page on supplements, for example https://www.health.harvard.edu/healthy-aging-and-longevity/supplements-a-scorecard

@EllenInEdmonton I'll need to fold it up and put it away soon, so I try to keep it tidy. The bed next to it, however... That's a project for another day!

the problem with "ai" is not "people are using it and they should not" it's "this is a very resource intensive band aid we put on all of society's problems so we do not have to look at their structural causes" and this is as true for people using it to do basic computer shit that they never were taught as it is for the people who try to use it as a lawyer or therapist

Except for maybe a toile of a new shirt, this is all I'm cutting for now! (We'll see if I want to cut it out or get to sewing when I next have time).

We have a pile of plain cotton woven and technical knits:

1 heavily modified Sinclair Lily tank

1 heavily modified Itch to Stitch Kathryn shirt

2 Greenstyle Pacific Pullovers

3 Greenstyle Green Tees (1 sleeveless)

And maybe enough scraps to get another Pacific Pullover together if I feel like doing that later. #sewing

A fun thing I like about Chrome without any adblock (thanks, work) is that it will freeze up on random websites. Just completely locked up and unusable for a random period of time until I can convince it to close the offending tab.

Now here’s a fun find. Someone’s scanned the NBA Jam TE “save initialization” sheet. The game infamously shipped with a bug that broke saving games, but someone found a workaround before it shipped so every copy of the first run came with this leaflet telling you what to do.

According to a dev who worked on it, no one had actually tested save games in a “from scratch” state at the end of development, so no one knew there was a bug until the first run of carts was done. https://www.gamedeveloper.com/design/more-dirty-coding-tricks-from-game-developers
