It’s chili for dinner! Although, my fellow Texans would just call it soup. Started a pork ham in the Dutch oven in the morning. Cooked it until it fell apart. Added tomato paste, edemame, kale, yellow bell pepper tomatillos, tomatoes and onion… and of course the shredded pork.

Help! Need tips on working w/ Koa wood.
My dad bought a small piece, about 3/4 bf, of Koa on a trip to Hawaii with the intention of making a nice box. He never got around to it. Now, he has dementia with Lewy Bodies. So, I'm making it for him.
This wood is a PAIN. It's hard, brittle and the grain is squirrelly. I've re-glued the corner. Tomorrow, I'll try again.
Maybe go w/ the grain 1st, cutting from the outside in.
Or just light it on fire!

It’s not the most elegant thing in the world. But, I finally got around to making a card scraper holder out of some scrap mahogany. Turns out the simplest design is the best. Should reduce hand pain a bit.
Also seen is my “new” favorite (120 yr old) hand plane and the tailpiece for the arch top guitar I’m making.

#Breakfast for #dinner on a Friday evening. Backyard #bacon from a Gloucestershire Old Spot, the most delicious #pig. Scrambled eggs from the girls. It’s been raining and apparently they don’t know how to wipe there feet. While cleaning the eggs, the 11 yr old swooped in to finish the bacon. So proud!
That’s cream cheese in the cast iron with the eggs, key to delightful eggs.

This guitar neck is almost done! I still need to set in the tiny abalone fret markers on the top of the neck, drill holes for tuners. After I fit it to the hollow body I’m working on I’ll cut the bone nut for strings and level the frets.
