Is writing two master theses at the same time a bad idea? Asking for a friend 😬

Packing all the stuff I accumulated this year into one suitcase and two bags is pretty tricky. I hope my luggage doesn’t have too much excess weight I have to pay for. Wish me luck 😬

I wrote my first blog post ever, and today it was published as part of the #HTMHell advent calendar! 🎉
If you want to learn how to implement an #accessible alternative for the #HTML #marquee element, check it out: https://www.htmhell.dev/adventcalendar/2022/15/

A collection of bad practices in HTML, copied from real websites.

The #Mastodon server I’m on (uiuxdev.social) was #offline for 8+ hours today.
Now I finally have access again, but my feed is not showing all new posts from people I follow, and my notifications and mentions didn’t update either. Wonder when it will be back to normal. 🤔
Also kinda scary not being able to use the platform for so long and not knowing why, what is going on or if it will be fixed. Does this happen to other #servers / #instances here as well?

@dnikub pays tribute to one of the elements that was part of the very first website I made back in 2000, <marquee>.

Did you know @google #Translate perpetuates antiquated gender stereotypes? In Norwegian, the term "kjærste" roughly translates to "beloved" or "loved partner". It's gender neutral. Look what happens when Google translates it in relation to work and tasks: #aeasf
We had to proofread research proposals of fellow students at university today. Well, the feedback I got was something like „what does #WCAG mean?“ and „what is a manual #accessibility test?“ 😅
I sometimes forget I’m in a bubble, and not everybody knows what I know. Especially regarding web accessibility many lack knowledge. Interesting and shocking at the same time.
Dear #universities please do better and add #a11y to your #curriculum (having one guest lecture in 3 years isn’t enough) 😬
Designing for people with dyscalculia and low numeracy – Design in government

We believe in working in the open. This blog is for designers across government to share their projects, ideas and concepts, or just to think out loud.

Only one week until I move back to Austria 😱 So crazy how fast a year can pass. I will definitely not miss the cold weather tho. Looking forward to not wearing tights every day to survive 😬
I love the design of the State of CSS survey results. Lots of useful visualisations that make sense of complex data, and presented really well on mobile. And some great #CSS insights too! https://2022.stateofcss.com
