A boring purchase for most, but an extremely exciting purchase for me! A CS9711 based USB fingerprint reader that works with #Linux. I had an older, flaky Digital Persona 4500 for #sudo elevation before this. (I do not use it for login access. The #libfprint fork if you need it: https://github.com/ddlsmurf/libfprint-CS9711 Brands on Amazon: COPLKY, Gllehkt, and Yoidesu for USB-C #homelab
What a time to be alive! Relatively painless #SRIOV with the latest opt-in kernel 6.17 for #Proxmox! There's slight wonkiness here and there with the #intel drivers (on the Windows side), but from what I can see in the #level1techs video and thread, they are working diligently. Right now it's just #homelab shenanigans, but this will be useful for the last 2 Windows use cases I have once it's a little smoother.
Looking forward to some #SRIOV #Virtualization fun in #Proxmox with my Intel ARC Pro B50 and #Minisforum Ryzen 9 #7945HX3D. It's VERY early days, but I hope this becomes the norm despite Intel's newest partnership. #homelab
Picked up the #GamersNexus GPU VRAM pint glass (along with some other items from the Black Market documentary). It's soooooooooo nice. That gold rim really does it.
It's the year of the Linux desktop for me! I finally had enough of Microsoft's shenanigans and made #Fedora KDE my daily driver OS. I've documented the whole process from what sent me over the edge to 6 months later. (Never going back)

There's something satisfying about using TUI players. Keeping myself up to date on #Jellyfin, so I took a little side quest. #homelab #fedora #kde #plasma https://github.com/dhonus/jellyfin-tui

This is my first split #mechanicalkeyboard. I thought it would take more getting used to, but it kinda feels like my MAJA v1. I like it! I've been using it as my daily for a bit over two weeks. I ordered a second one for my office so I don't have to lug it around. I didn't confuse my muscle memory by going back and forth between a traditional one so soon.

Finished up my #homelab shuffle as I sought to finally phase out my old QNAP running #Plex. Now I've got some new #Minisforum boxes and am using QuickSync to handle transcoding a #Proxmox LXC container. That Ryzen 2700 put in work. I will miss it. https://denfi.me/homelabshuffle

Eureka! I figured out my sleep issue with the new #Framework 13. It was the SSD!. Accidentally grabbed an older Silicon Power NVMe. Now that the WD SN850X is ACTUALLY installed, it sleeps tight.

I swapped out the Mediatek Wi-Fi card for a Qualcomm NCM865. That's getting me 1700Mbps vs the 600Mbps I was getting, so that's great.

At least this gave me the chance to make a new desktop wallpaper for it. #homelab #framework #linux #fedora

Got my @frameworkcomputer FW13 in. HX 370, 128GB DDR5 5600, 4TB SN580. I'm running @fedora 42 on this one as well. Loving it so far. The build quality is awesome. You usually have to give that up when you want upgradeability, but not here. The transparent black bezel also looks a lot more classy than I was expecting. Glad I went that route. Still some sleep issues to work out, but it's been smooth otherwise. #homelab #fedora #framework #linux #flir
