The continued growth of mastodon.social is putting the #Fediverse in danger (here's why: https://fedi.tips/its-a-really-bad-idea-to-join-a-big-server/).

The quickest, easiest and most effective way to solve this would be if the official apps & website stopped promoting mastodon.social, and instead promoted a rotating selection from a pool of reliable servers with solid track records.

Another super-hurricane is about to hit the Philippines. I've been doing one hurricane cartoon almost every year and the point of all of them is basically the same. These are from 2024, 2022, 2020 and 2019.

i always phrased it as:

freedumb: "i can do whatever i want, who cares who i harm, in fact, that's my whole point: harming others, that's my 'freedom'"

actual freedom: "i can do whatever i want, as long as i don't harm the freedom of others"

and out of people's inability or unwillingness to differentiate between these two attitudes, much much suffering ensues
