In the wake of a shattered home, I wake each day beside my wife and children, spread across what remains of our former life. Our roof collapsed, taking with it both shelter and the steady rhythm of daily work. Yet I look into the frightened eyes of my kids and choose not to yield to despair. We will not let hunger defeat them after the bullets that tried to end our peace.
This is a red currant which has very small fruits, it grows in southern Ontario. The ones from the nursery which are standardized are actually not superior. I have seen some in Germany which are giant like grapes but, these ones are dependable in the Canadian cold climate.
I like them because they are sour and the birds don't eat them.
