Regarding Qobuz, the DRM-free music purchase site:
I try not to be rude to smaller companies but I can't recommend Qobuz anymore if you're a Linux user.
At some point recently they turned off the ability to download an entire album from browser- you now need a Windows or Mac computer to download an entire album worth of purchases.
I just had to download Xanadu track by track, like I did with Napster in 1999. Thumbs down.
There's a really disturbing #Paypal #phishing scam happening right now. Obviously this reads like a typical phishing attempt (bad grammar, a malformed phone number to call, etc), but the official Paypal email wasn't spoofed. It came from PayPal's email infrastructure.
Examining the headers shows that SPF, DKIM, and DMARC all pass. If you have a Paypal account, please exercise caution. Don't click links in these emails. Forward them to phishing@paypal.com.
Please boost for visibility.
Hello, Mastodon! I'm so excited to be here. My name is Kate, and I'm a small-batch leatherworker creating meaningful, handcrafted items with a focus on (bracelets!!) durability and timeless design. I believe in slow craft and the power of beautiful items made with purpose.
I'd love to connect with other artisans, makers, and anyone who appreciates handmade goods with a story. Say hi and tell me about your craft!

Success! Mastodon found the person. Thank you!
I am looking for someone from #italy that used the online handle Lex Tutor from at least 2010-2019. Lex hates #spam and was very vocal about spam groups.
If the #mastodon community can help me find the real person, I would be grateful..
Lex had insights into criminals that we are hunting today.. and I would love to interview them.
Appreciate the boosts to see if the Kevin Bacon game will work.
A Windows sysadmin tool that more people should know about is the Magic Number Database at https://www.magnumdb.com
This database is great for pasting weird Windows hexadecimal errors into and finding out what they might mean.
Example from today, I got 0x80d02002 during a Windows update. Magnumdb tells me that this result corresponds to DO_E_DOWNLOAD_NO_PROGRESS, so now I know it's probably because an update server isn't responding.
