Auino back on LinuxI’m wondering why there isn’t some kind of “standard”/common #selfhosted server integrated in most popular #Linux apps to sync all their data and share them across your devices in a seamless way, just like #iCloud or other services do… may be a call for #Gnome or #KDE ?

SathyaSeems like iCloud Photos has a regression in their Shared Libraries that prevents me from downloading the photos from a browser if an image is in Shared Library. If I move it Personal library I can download it fine :/

Mal sehen, wie das mit Kalender, Kontakte und Notizen klappt. Evtl. dann Joplin Sync über Datei.

Ich teste jetzt mal Nextcloud von IONOS als iCloud Ersatz. Die Einrichtung war in ein paar Minuten erledigt. Domain hatte ich noch vom VPS Test bei IONOS.
Ist mit den Chat und Konferenz Möglichkeiten schon fast zu viel.
Vielleicht kann man ja mit einer App eine Art Discord Ersatz bauen. Mal sehen.

Most beginning to intermediate computer users have no idea where their files are, how to find them, or how to organize them.
Also, automatically forcing people to save onto the Cloud rather than their computers in a way that automatically limits their storage capacity and degrades their user experience is wrong.
