Der im Februar 1941 aus Wien nach Opole im besetzten Polen deportierte Artur Czuczka schreibt seinen in die USA emigrierten Verwandten am 21. Mai 1941: "Ich muss sagen, dass ich vor dem Sommer hier, mit Hitze, Schmutz & Ungeziefer ein bisschen Angst habe, aber ich werde schon aufpassen und hoffentlich auch das noch gut ĂŒberstehen."
Sein letzter Brief datiert vom 2. Nov. 1941. Er hat den Holocaust nicht ĂŒberlebt. Seine Briefe sind im USHMM ĂŒberliefert.
