ICYMI last month, we updated the DataHaven Communities pages with the latest 2021 #Census 5Y ACS data, released just this week. Although many of our other resources, such as our Town Equity Reports, are more comprehensive, these pages are quite popular too. They were designed by a group of national data experts to be super easy to navigate and use! Within some #FairfieldCounty #Connecticut neighborhoods, more than 2 out of every 100 residents (2%) are currently incarcerated — more than 30X the rate in other neighborhoods in the area. These neighborhood-level rates are averages: Among some groups such as men, young adults, and persons who identify as Black, these percentages are considerably higher. Some of the data used here comes from Prison Policy Initiative. Learn more in the next edition of our #CommunityIndex. #massincarceration #nnip
