I haven't introduced the boys yet! Meet Edgar & Oisín. I fell for Edgar's fierce glare & Oisín's "that's another fine mess you've got me into" face at first sight #catsofmastodon

Bible Scholar, Jennifer Bird describes why Biblical Marriage is not what you think it is. I've listened to this 5 times now and think Dr. Bird and her insights are incredible.

Someone better put Ben Shapiro and Matt Walsh on notice.

Protip:

When designing a user interface, imagine some old woman using it, say Margaret Hamilton, and she's clicking your app's buttons and saying to you, as old people do,

"Young whippersnapper, when I was your age, I sent 24 people to the ACTUAL MOON with my software in 4K of RAM and here I am clicking your button and it takes ten seconds to load a 50 megabyte video ad and then it crashes

I'm not even ANGRY with you, I'm just disappointed."

See the faint concentration of light toward the center of this image? That’s the elusive gegenschein, aka counterglow, a diffuse spot visible only in the darkest of skies, centered at the point directly opposite the sun. It’s caused by sunlight reflecting on interplanetary dust.
My "How Mastodon Works" discovery for today: If you use the advanced web interface, then do a hashtag search (eg. #archaeology'), if you then click on 'show settings' and click 'pin' on the column where all the toots with a #archaeology are shown, this will create a permanent extra column on your interface with all the toots with #archaeology on them. If you want to get rid of it, just unpin it.

When people travel to the past, they worry about radically changing the present by doing something small.

Few people think that they can radically change the future by doing something small in the present.

This is the only real time travel paradox.

Now that I know more about this place, I guess it's time for a new #Introduction. I'm perpetually online. I'm a #copywriter by day, & by night I hostThe Q-Dropped Podcast. Each ep. is a close look at how QAnon has destroyed a relationship. It's not easy to do, but #QAnon claimed my parents, so I feel compelled to raise awareness. You can listen to the #podcast here: https://www.porthosmedia.net/qdropped I'm also a #StarTrek nut, a mom and I love #Food #Hiking #Dogs #TV & I #swim 2km every morning! #GoBrowns

They’re on the hunt, they’re after you.

There was once a dream of a decentralised web.

As recently as a decade ago we had a still very active blogosphere, connected via blogrolls and RSS. Specialised web forums were still mainstream and messenger apps could largely interoperate.

Centralised social media slowly ate that dream. It had plenty of positives, but it pulled more and more people away from the open web and into corporate walled gardens.

Some people kept the dream of decentralisation alive. And now you are here.

“We are not the only country with alcohol,” said Beth Osborne, director of the advocacy group Transportation for America. “We’re not the only country with smartphones and distraction. We were not the only country impacted by the worldwide pandemic.”

Rather, she said, other countries have designed transportation systems where human emotion and error are less likely to produce deadly results on roadways.
