alarm clocks for sleeping cells. cats.

does anyone have recs for a good vet for cats in SF? we've tried 4 in the last year and they are all massively overworked and under responsive and totally unhelpful when we need emergency care!!

bonus points if they do home visits since our new babies are very scared!

so for folks with plasmids that Addgene won't distribute - how do you handle distribution? Do you have to execute a fresh MTA with the company of origin and the new party?

(paging @JoachimGoedhart because I think you ran into these issues for mTurq2?)

i want to filter out twitter-cross posts but i can't seem to get the filtering to work. i tried a two-part rule of "RT @" and "@twitter.com" but no luck. anyone try this successfully? wondering what i did wrong

Hey everyone, Happy Holidays! I come bearing the gift of our last preprint of 2022.

Will probably run a legit "Toot-orial" in the New Year when people are back, but briefly: We have long been interested in how the genome is packaged in sperm, both as a cool chromatin state and also because several labs have reported that mutations that affect histone modifications in the testis have intergenerational effects. 1/n

Alright Mastodon let's do this.
#Introduction I'm Dr. Liz Haynes. You might know me as @actin_crazy on twitter. I'm a Morgridge post-doctoral researcher studying #neurodegeneration and #neurodevelopment using #zebrafish and #microscopes! I am all about #openaccess and #opensource solutions. I get to hang out with the cool folks working on ImageJ2 at the Laboratory for Optics and Computational Instrumentation (LOCI) at UW-Madison. Follow me for the pretty pictures, stay for the science!

I'm a molecular biologist in love with #development and everything #omics and #bioinformatics. I try to understand how transcription is kickstarted in early embryogenesis during the activation of the zygotic genome

I'm a co-organiser of the #FragileNucleosome seminar series with a few other great folks also here @chrstn_e @BenMartin @generegulation @XiaoliWu

Happy to finally explore around! :)

Huh, another chicken to human comparative (I think this should be spelled comparitive -- like compar*I*son -- but whatever) genomics effort out today: this one on chromosome folding:
